Pyramid Calculator
Enter base edge and height — volume and surface update instantly.
Formula
V = a²h/3 | Slant = √(h²+(a/2)²) | Lateral = 2·a·slant
Example
a = 50 mm, h = 60 mm → V = 50 000 mm³, slant = 65 mm, lateral = 6500 mm².
FAQ
How is pyramid volume derived?
Any pyramid is one third of the prism with the same base and height: V = base area × h ÷ 3.
Does this work for rectangular bases?
Use V = (l·w·h)/3. This calculator covers the square-base case; lateral area needs all four equal triangular faces.
