Metal Density Table
| Material | g/cm³ |
|---|
| Carbon steel | 7.85 |
| Stainless 304 | 7.93 |
| Stainless 316 | 7.98 |
| Aluminum | 2.70 |
| Copper | 8.96 |
| Brass | 8.50 |
| Titanium Gr.2 | 4.51 |
| Cast iron | 7.20 |
| Inconel 625 | 8.44 |
| Monel 400 | 8.80 |
| Duplex 2205 | 7.80 |
Formula
Weight (kg) = Volume (m³) × Density (kg/m³)
Round bar: V = π/4 × D² × L
Pipe: V = π/4 × (OD² − ID²) × L
Worked Example
A 304 stainless round bar Ø50 × 1000 mm: V = π/4 × 0.05² × 1 = 0.0019635 m³ → 15.57 kg.
FAQ
What is the density of carbon steel?
7.85 g/cm³ (7850 kg/m³).
Are results exact?
Theoretical weight based on nominal density; real mill tolerance is typically ±1–2%.
